Quality Inspector (Weekend) - El Paso PDCA

Inspect and Hi-Pot switchboard product produced on all lines, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements, to confirm proper function of switchboards and electrical components, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specification, safety and quality requirements. Document inspections made on applicable checklist. Use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing.

Verify torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions. Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures. (Hi-Pot) Examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure that job is complete and field installation is problem-free (i.e.

splice plate dimensions, kirk key coordination, etc). Verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded. (Process and Update paperwork accurately - POM, test reports, etc.) Thoroughly document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.

Communicate design errors to appropriate front-end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework. Serve as informal trainer for production associates, communicate well with other associates, and build positive relationships that support job objectives and teamwork. Helping particularly for complex tasks and for product requirements that may not be precisely defined (i.e.

barrier placement). Troubleshoot, update, develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inaccurate. Minimum of 6 months manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Two or more years of experience in a Quality or Inspector position in a manufacturing environment.

Computer literate. Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics. Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment. Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality schematics/wiring diagrams and assembly processes on all lines. (Hi-Pot, Shunt Trip).

Knowledge of all assembled SWBD product designs (i.e. PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, FDS, MF, etc.) Experience in applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thru, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
