Summary:
Performs inspection of precision machined parts, plastic parts, and electrical assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances, and workmanship standards.
Responsibilities:
- With moderate to little direction, perform inspection of precision machined parts, plastic parts and electrical assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards
- Provide Engineering with first article reports for new prototype components
- Assist in the development of inspection methods that are accurate, reproducible and expedient
- Support Non-conformance Reports
- Support of manufacturing operations
- Serve as secondary {back-up) Equipment Coordinator and assist in activities such as calibrations, managing equipment files, and preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Assist in maintaining the lab to the standards established by your direct manager
- Stay abreast of current federal and international regulatory trends to ensure ongoing adherence to / international inspection standards and techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General understanding of shop mathematics, including trigonometry, CMI or CQT
- Knowledge of federal regulatory agencies {FDA, CSC, ESH) and international quality agencies {ASTM, ISO, UL)
- A solid understanding of machine drawings is necessary, with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Familiar with surface plate measuring equipment and toolmakers microscope
- Successful communication skills
- Strong and active team leadership and contributions
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office proficiency
Typical Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- 2 years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining environment and/or medical device manufacturing
You should be proficient in:
