What to expect:

Pay Rate: $30-$40/per hour + mileage reimbursement

This is a 6-12 month contract position with full-time hours for a CMM Quality Mechanical Inspector. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule. Additionally, you will be added to SQA's database as part of an elite group eligible for additional projects in the future.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct dimensional inspection of complex casted parts, hardware, and assemblies using precision inspection equipment such as CMM. Experience with Faro Arm or Rover Arm is a plus.
• Perform Source Inspection and First Article Inspection (FAI) on critical components.
• Utilize Mitutoyo machines and PCDMIS software for accurate and reliable measurements.
• Interpret complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements and validate commodity-specific assemblies.
• Collaborate with sub-tier management and address issues related to labor shortages and reproducibility.
• Contribute to resolving production issues and supporting the recovery of Magnesium Alloy production.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of hands-on inspection experience with precision machined and or mechanical parts
• Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
• CMM programming experience; CMM Calypso experience is a plus
• Experience with GD&T
• Be able to interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards
• Must be a U.S Citizen and willing to undergo a background check

Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)
