We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Documentation Specialist to join our team and support a leading aerospace company specializing in flight deck window production. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, 3-month contract with potential for extension. This role has an anticipated mid-September start date.Key Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing documentation (e.g., technical drawings, assembly instructions, material specs, quality reports, test data) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
- Ensure documentation adheres to AS9100, FAA, and customer-specific standards
- Work with engineering and quality teams to confirm alignment with production processes and regulatory guidelines
- Verify version control of manufacturing documents, ensuring the most current versions are used
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Technical knowledge as an inspector, documentation control reviewer, junior engineer, or related field (or a combination of relevant education and experience)
- Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA regulations)
- Knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAIs)
- Proficiency in document management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- 2+ years of experience in documentation control or manufacturing documentation review in aerospace or a similarly regulated industry
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies in technical documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of documentation review, quality, or manufacturing support experience in aerospace or a similar industry
- Certification in AS9100 Internal Auditing or Quality Engineering (CQE)
- Proficiency with ERP/document control systems (e.g., SAP, Windchill)
- Working knowledge of GD&T and aerospace technical drawings
50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed.Note:
