Quality Inspector

Job Title: Quality Inspector - Aerospace (Manual Inspection)



Location: South West UK (On-site)



Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + benefits



TEC Partners are working with a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturer based in the South West who are expanding their Quality department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a business that takes pride in precision, innovation, and excellence in aerospace component manufacturing.



You'll be joining a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety. The role is heavily focused on manual inspection, playing a crucial part in ensuring all aerospace components meet stringent tolerances, customer specifications, and industry regulations.



The Role:



Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined aerospace components.

Use a wide range of manual inspection tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges, shadowgraphs, height gauges, etc.) to confirm compliance with specifications.

Operate CMMs for measurement and inspection tasks when required.

Interpret and work confidently from engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.

Record inspection data accurately, ensuring complete documentation traceability.

Support the and review of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production staff to identify and resolve quality issues at source.



What You'll Need:



Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within aerospace, precision engineering, or another high-precision manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with manual inspection tools and measurement equipment.

Ability to operate CMMs (basic programming knowledge advantageous but not essential).

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), and technical standards.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a genuine commitment to maintaining quality excellence.



Desirable Skills & Experience:



Background in the aerospace or defence sectors.

Familiarity with FAIR processes and AS9100 quality standards.

Formal apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in mechanical or precision engineering.



Hours & Benefits:



37 hours per week (Mon-Thu 07:30-16:00, Fri 07:30-12:30)

25 days holiday plus bank holidays
