Position Summary:
The Quality Final Inspector & CMM Operator will serve as a hands-on problem solver within the Quality Department taking on a dynamic approach to inspecting and evaluating parts for acceptability. The Quality Final Inspector & CMM Operator acts as a safeguard to confirm that high quality products meet and/or exceed customer requirements, ensuring that Phoenix Manufacturing, Inc.’s flight critical aerospace components are delivered to specifications. Essential Functions:

CMM Inspector:
· Perform inspection of dimensional, layout, assemblies, and fixtures or gauges using a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or other appropriate measuring devices. Examples included but are not limited to hole locations, contour measurements, and shapes conform within prescribed tolerance to print specifications using CMM.
· Inspect first piece, in-process, and finished products including first article by conducting visual and measurement tests; setting up and running CMMs to perform inspection processes; documenting and communicating required corrections and ensuring defective product is not delivered to the customer.
· Process and store CMM or manual inspection data in electronic and printed formats (IAW) with internal standard work and
· Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete (i.e., Traveler Sign-off).
· Provide training in the use of the CMM and inspection instruments, as needed.
· Inspect parts independently with a high level of integrity to verify product conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
· Work from shop routers, operation sheets, blueprints, and other specifications to ensure that all manufactured parts or materials are in full compliance.
· Regular verbal or written communication to internal stakeholders utilizing both electronic and analog systems.
· Utilization of office machines including copiers, scanners, phone systems, computers (including email), and other standard equipment.
· Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with Manufacturing, Operations, and Production Control.
· Participate in the operation of and compliance with all safety, hazardous material handling, and disposal requirements in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
· Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with all internal, customer and government regulations.
· Interconnect with the Production/Shop Floor management personnel on quality issues and corrective actions, as required.
· Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.
· Maintains positive, team relationship with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
· Assist with other Inspection Department functions, as required.
· Assist in internal, customer, and third-party audits, as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Education required.
· Minimum of three (3) years of Manufacturing and Quality Control experience in Aerospace or other complex manufacturing industry with exacting/demanding requirements.
· CMM Operator using Mitutoyo proficient with PC-DMIS, mCOSMO, or Calypso.
· Strong knowledge of GD&T, reading blueprints and the ability to interpret them accurately.
· Ability to adapt, prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency.
· Experience using lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodology.
· Experience working in AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel) or related software.
· Proficient with ERP systems (Global Shop).
· Understanding of common industry specifications (material, coating/plating, NDT, etc.)
· Understanding of complex aerospace blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
· Ability to use a variety of Measuring and Test equipment such as Bore gages, Profilometers, Height gages, Micrometers and Optical Comparators.
· Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, work from sketches, and use simple measuring instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, and vernier gauges.
· Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, internally and externally.
