Quality Engineering Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Engineering Technician to support quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong inspection, troubleshooting, and process improvement experience.
Location: Lenexa, KS
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Conditions: Manufacturing / Production
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Work Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm
Position Summary:
The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring products and processes meet established quality standards. This role involves inspections, process analysis, corrective actions, and collaboration with production teams to maintain and improve product quality.
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality standards are met
- Identify and control non-conforming materials and ensure proper containment
- Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and quality documentation
- Analyze production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in developing and maintaining quality control procedures
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other quality systems
- Evaluate equipment, processes, and engineering drawings for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA, and company quality standards
- Communicate quality issues and improvements with production and leadership teams
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s or Technical Degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Skills Required:
- Quality inspection and documentation
- Continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Data analysis and troubleshooting
- Effective communication and teamwork
Qualifications:
- Experience with CMM (Romer Arm) and Hexagon Inspire Software
- Knowledge of advanced quality tools (APQP, SPC, FMEA, etc.)
- Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and chemicals
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and inspection work
- Use of precision tools and measuring equipment
