Job DescriptionQuality Engineering AssistantCorbyHours - Monday to Friday full timeSalary circa £40kWe are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineering Assistant to support a busy Quality Engineering function within a precision manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong quality, engineering, or manufacturing background to develop their career within a highly regulated and standards-driven industry. You will work closely with an experienced Quality Engineer, supporting quality systems, audit activities, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across production and customer-facing processes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Assist with internal and external audits (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / automotive standards)
  • Maintain accurate quality records, documentation, and compliance data
  • Support investigation of non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis
  • Contribute to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Assist with customer quality queries and preparation of reports
  • Support supplier quality communication where required
  • Help monitor product quality throughout production processes
  • Assist in quality performance reporting and KPI tracking
  • Support adherence to health & safety requirements (IOSH-aligned standards)
  • Use IT systems to manage documentation and quality data

PERSON SPECIFICATIONEssential

  • HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related discipline
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, or automotive quality standards
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • IOSH Health & Safety certificate (or willingness to work towards)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

Desirable

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Exposure to internal auditing or quality systems
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone)
  • Experience using ERP or quality management systems
