Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating quality management systems to ensure product quality, process reliability, customer compliance, and continuous improvement in alignment with company and engineering standards.
Knowledge & Experience
- Working knowledge of statistical techniques (SPC, data analysis)
- ASQC/ASQ certification
- Broad computer proficiency
- College degree or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years’ experience in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and direct daily quality activities to support production flow and key performance indicators
- Train employees on quality systems, SPC, statistical methods, gaging, and corrective actions
- Develop, maintain, and implement quality procedures, work instructions, inspection methods, and control plans
- Lead problem-solving efforts, including statistical studies, root cause analysis, and team facilitation
- Interface with customers to resolve quality issues and support customer satisfaction goals
- Manage supplier quality activities, including audits, PPAP review, and corrective actions in accordance with AIAG standards
- Lead and participate in internal and external quality system audits
- Support cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives
- Assist the Quality Manager in continuous improvement of quality systems and processes
- Participate in Advanced Quality Planning (APQP), including PFMEA, process flows, and control plans for new products
- Manage containment, sorting, and corrective actions for supplier, customer, and warranty issues
- Review customer specifications and ensure required materials, resources, and standards are in place
- Maintain internal quality standards and ensure manufacturing process compliance
- Monitor customer scorecards and PPAP documentation
- Coordinate internal quality sorts and communicate quality issues with suppliers and operations teams
