Job Title: Quality Engineer\nLocation: Sheffield\nSalary: £40,000-£42,000\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a well-established operation based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards within a high-volume manufacturing environment.\n\nThe business supplies precision cast components into demanding sectors including engineering, automotive, rail and industrial markets, where compliance, traceability and process control are critical.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMaintain and develop the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards\n\nLead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits\n\nConduct root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) and drive corrective & preventive actions\n\nSupport foundry process control including melting, moulding, casting and finishing operations\n\nOversee metallurgical and dimensional inspection processes\n\nManage non-conformance, concession and customer complaint processes\n\nWork closely with production, metallurgy and engineering teams to reduce scrap and improve yield\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives across the foundry\n\nMaintain quality documentation, control plans, PFMEA and inspection plans\n\nLiaise directly with customers on technical quality matters\n\nRequired Experience & Skills\n\nProven experience as a Quality Engineer.\n\nStrong understanding of metallurgical processes and casting defects\n\nExperience with ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 advantageous)\n\nCompetent in root cause analysis methodologies\n\nExperience with dimensional inspection techniques and CMM (advantageous)\n\nStrong analytical mindset with a hands-on approach on the shop floor\n\nAbility to communicate effectively across production and management teams\n\nQualifications\n\nInternal Auditor qualification (advantageous)\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nSalary of £40,000-£42,000\n\nStable, long-term opportunity within a respected Sheffield manufacturing business\n\nOpportunity to influence process improvement and quality strategy\n\nSupportive engineering-led environment\n\nWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
