Job Title: Quality Engineer\n Location: Reading, Berkshire\n Rate: £400 - £450 per day\n Contract Length: 12 months (with potential for extension)\n\nJob Overview:\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Quality Engineer to join our client's team based in Reading. This is an exciting 12-month contract opportunity offering a competitive daily rate within the £400 - £450 range. We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact in ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead quality assurance efforts for products and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.\n\nConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues.\n\nDevelop and maintain inspection and testing procedures, ensuring they align with the best industry practices.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to drive continuous improvement in quality.\n\nPerform audits and inspections at various stages of production to identify potential quality risks and areas for improvement.\n\nPrepare and present quality reports and metrics, highlighting trends and areas of concern.\n\nManage and facilitate external audits and customer quality assessments.\n\nWork with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and manage supplier quality issues when they arise.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nProven experience as a Quality Engineer, ideally within the manufacturing or engineering sectors.\n\nStrong knowledge of quality standards, including ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or similar certifications.\n\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective corrective actions.\n\nExperience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, FMEA).\n\nStrong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.\n\nProficiency in using quality management software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.\n\nExperience working with suppliers and conducting audits.\n\nAbility to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nDesirable:\n\nLean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or equivalent qualification.\n\nExperience working with automotive or aerospace quality standards is a plus.\n\nExperience in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools
