I’m looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business working on complex electro-mechanical systems for the defence sector. This is a hands-on role that combines technical quality assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement — ideal for someone who enjoys variety and has a real eye for detail. Responsibilities include: • Verifying configuration status of hardware and reviewing supporting documentation • Preparing and maintaining project quality documentation throughout the full lifecycle • Supporting and running First Article and Factory Acceptance Testing activities • Conducting internal and external audits for process, procedure, and contract compliance • Managing the internal audit schedule and tracking corrective actions • Leading and supporting investigations, root cause analysis, and lessons learned reviews • Supporting continuous improvement and supplier quality activities What we’re looking for: • Background in defence or other high-integrity engineering environments • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical hardware and configuration control • Experience carrying out quality audits (in-house and at suppliers) • Internal Auditor qualification and 8D problem-solving experience • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Able to work independently and under pressure • Quality-related qualifications such as C&G 743, IQA A3, Lead Assessor, or equivalent would be an advantage This is a great opportunity to join a business where quality is at the heart of everything they do.
