Wright Technical Services is partnering with a leading company in the steel industry to hire a
Quality Engineer. This role is ideal for a quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced
manufacturing environment and wants to take ownership of quality systems, audits, and
customer-facing quality activities.
The Quality Engineer leads the Quality Support team and ensures the plant's quality systems
meet ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. This role manages internal audits, corrective actions,
document control, and supports automotive customer requirements. The position also
investigates nonconforming product issues, drives corrective actions, supports PPAPs, and
communicates directly with customers on quality-related concerns.
Job Duties:
• Lead internal process and quality systems audits; manage corrective actions.
• Maintain and update quality documentation and the overall Quality Management System.
• Support automotive requirements including PPAPs, customer-specific requirements, and
problem solving.
• Investigate nonconforming products, lead root-cause analysis, and drive corrective
actions.
• Create and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and contribute to FMEAs.
• Analyze rejection data and prepare weekly/monthly KPI reports.
• Provide guidance across the plant regarding quality standards and procedures.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or business with related experience.
• ISO 9001 / TS 16949 internal auditor training; IATF training a plus.
• Understanding of automotive core tools, FMEAs, risk assessment, and corrective action.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and quality-related databases (e.g., COGNOS).
• Prior operational or manufacturing environment experience (2+ years).
• Familiarity with tube manufacturing or non-destructive testing is a plus.
• Ability to navigate the plant environment (stairs, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs)
