Quality Engineer (Contract) - Defence/Aerospace | In‑Service Support (Fast Jet & Complex Platforms)\n\nA leading UK defence/aerospace organisation is seeking an enthusiastic Quality Engineer contractor to support a range of projects within a Customer Support & Service Solutions environment, covering fast jet and other in‑service platforms. You'll work at Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, collaborating closely with Operations to deliver effective Quality Assurance across returns and repair activity.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport the Principal Quality Engineer and Quality Manager to meet/exceed quality objectives\nAct as the Quality focal point for in‑service and returns material activities\nInvestigate and resolve non‑conformances (root cause analysis and corrective actions)\nReview/approve quality documentation for returns, concessions and repairs\nEnsure traceability and configuration control of returned/unserviceable items\nInterface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations and external suppliers\nEnsure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001, internal QMS and customer requirements\nDrive continuous improvement across in‑service quality processes\nProvide reports and supporting data to programme, project and functional teamsSkills & Experience\n\nFurther education and/or strong experience in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing (or similar) within Defence Electronics or a comparably complex industry\nWorking knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement principles\nExperience with quality tools (e.g., RCCA, verification, pattern fault lifecycle)\nLogical, data-driven problem solver with strong attention to detail\nConfident stakeholder management and collaborative working styleSecurity / Vetting\n\nSubject to BPSS pre‑employment screening\nAdditional Security Vetting (NSV) may apply (eligibility for SC or DV may be required depending on programme)The role is based in Luton & has been deemed inside of scope\n\nInterested?
