The basics:\n\nJob Titles: Quality Engineer (Group Quality)\n\nIndustry: Precision Engineering - Aerospace\n\nLocation: Remote\n\nTravel: some travel required to manufacturing plants located global - discussed at interview\n\nSalary: Up to £50,000\n\nHours: Remote working/office hours\n\nContracted hours: 40 per week\n\nHolidays and Benefits: 25 days + 8 bank holidays. Pensions, annual pay negotiated each year by the Union\n\nOverview:\n\nWorking within a modern aerospace and precision engineering manufacturing business that produce precision engineered components with processes such as CNC Machining, Sheet metal fabrication and surface treatments, we now require a Quality Engineer to join the group global quality function.\n\nBrief overview of duties:\n\nAct as the internal focal point for quality-related matters, providing expert support to both central Quality teams and site-based teams on escalated technical queries, issues, and challenges.\nProvide specialist guidance to all sites on the deployment of APQP deliverables, including identifying training needs and supporting the roll-out of APQP training across the group.\nCollaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering to continuously enhance planning and inspection processes, ensuring best practices are shared, standardised, and embedded across all sites.\nSupport group-wide activities to maintain NADCAP and customer-specific process approvals, including assisting site teams in preparation for NADCAP audits.\nConduct internal process audits to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational excellence.\nSupport the effective implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.\nProvide technical support to inspection teams, ensuring a consistent and standardised approach (e.g. CMM strategies, GD&T application).\nSupport wider Quality functions as required to ensure alignment and consistency across the organisation.\nWork collaboratively within cross-functional teams to support business development, growth initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.

\n\nThe ideal candidate / Quality Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:\n\nExperience in deployment of APQP deliverables\nWorking knowledge of international standards for quality management systems (AS9100, ISO9001)\nExperience in manufacturing processes for sheet metal and machined components, including surface treatment processes\nProficient in reading, understanding and applying technical documentation such as drawings, technical specifications, standards etc.\nProficient in developing and improving planning (routing) and supporting documentation (procedures, instructions, process checklist)\nPrevious experience in a highly regulated industry - aerospace, nuclear, automotive etc.\nExperience with inspection techniques / CMM\nStrong knowledge of problem analysis methodologies (i.e. 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, DoE, DMAIC, Kepner Tregoe, etc.)\nWorking experience with ERP systemsIf you are interested in the Quality Engineer role, please apply immediately due to the urgency of this role.\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
