JOB SUMMARY:     

Responsible for resolution of customer complaints and supplier non-conformances using formal corrective action procedures.  Responsible to assist manufacturing with the analysis and resolution of process issues. 

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: 

Performs specific tasks as instructed by a first line supervisor. The incumbent may receive instruction and/or training from a lead person and/or another qualified operator. st manufacturing with the analysis and resolution of process issues. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  • Supports Quality Engineering in the resolution of non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and formal corrective action process. 
  • Liaison with Manufacturing in the resolution of in process issues affecting internal and external rejections. 
  • Assists management in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems. 
  • Collects and analyzes all statistical data to identify process quality issues and recommend any solutions as needed. 
  • Supports, maintains, and improves existing IATF 16949 audit process. 
  • Plans and conducts audits of Quality Management systems to determine effectiveness and compliance of IATF 16949. 
  • Performs other duties at or above the same skill level at the discretion of the supervisor. 
  •  Overall awareness and understanding that Hope Global operates within the EMS 14001 & QMS 16949 management systems. 
  •  Additional training over the course of the employee's tenure will be given as needed or required and in accordance with the criteria specified in ESP7.2/QSP 7.2.1Training Awareness and Competence. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Experience:  

 

  • BA/BS in Engineering or technical discipline. 

 

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with continuous improvement programs within a manufacturing environment. 

 

  • ASQ membership and Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor certification desirable. Prior IATF 16949 and/or ISO E 14001 experience.  

 

Skills/Abilities:  

 

  • Experience with statistical applications including Process Capability, GR & R SPC, Statistical Comparison methods required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. 

PHYSICAL DEMAND/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

The job requires the incumbent to both sit and stand during a normal workday. Good vision and manual dexterity are required to perform tasks. In addition, the incumbent must bend, and stoop as needed during the day. 

 

The job is located within a lab/office setting. Chemical solvents, testing machines, glass beakers, and other types of testing equipment are located throughout the floor. 

 

The incumbent must also travel approximately 10% of the time as needed.
