RWC is building a cohort of interns for the Summer of 2026. This will be a challenging opportunity to build skills in your field and create connections with RWC and peers from other Universities.

Position Summary:


Act in a supporting role to our factory Quality Engineers to develop, optimize, verify and validate new manufacturing processes. Also, develop new testing methods that are used to detect non-conforming material from the manufacturing process. Upon completion of the program, the employee will have experienced a multitude of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, plastic pipe extrusion, metal machining, Excel data analysis tools, machining and high-speed assembly.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to the Quality Engineers for process optimization of automated and manual manufacturing processes.
  • Provides assistance to the Quality Engineers for new inspection and test methods to support manufacturing.
  • Design of custom gaging instruments using 3D modeling software and CMM measurement.
  • Perform data analysis using Excel software statistical functions to determine process capabilities

Qualifications:

Education:

  • 2 years of Pre-Engineering education minimum

Experience:

  • This will be a hands-on role. Any previous mechanical or construction experience would be .
  • Computer experience, especially Microsoft Excel and 3D modeling, is .

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • This position will be located in ­­­­­Cullman, AL
  • Interns are paid an hourly rate of $22
  • will have travel involved including a kick-off in Atlanta and Operations immersion week in Cullman, AL
