Quality Engineer\nPoole\nQuality Engineer salary: £38,500 – £46,000\nPlease note: only applicants with the full-time, permanent right to work in the UK will be considered.\n\nQuality Engineer Overview:\n\nOwn day-to-day quality control in a fast-paced CNC machining environment\nDrive defect prevention, NCR closure and root cause to reduce scrap and rework\nLead inspection discipline across first-off, in-process and final, including CMM reporting\nManage customer quality topics: complaints, returns, audits and quality reviews\nKeep ISO 9001 compliance and core quality documentation tight and up to date \n\n This Quality Engineer role works closely with the Quality Manager, production, programming and inspection teams to ensure machined components meet drawing, tolerance and customer requirements. The Quality Engineer will focus on quality system discipline, inspection control, problem-solving and continuous improvement, with clear progression available for someone who shows initiative and wants to grow in a long-term role.\n\nDay-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Engineer\n\nEnsure products meet drawings, specifications and tolerances, supporting first-off, in-process and final inspection\nReview and approve inspection reports (CMM and manual) and support complex inspection activity when needed\nRaise, investigate and close internal and customer non-conformances, driving actions to prevent recurrence\nReduce scrap, rework and returns by working with programmers and machinists to improve processes\nTrack and report key quality metrics such as scrap rates, rework and customer returns\nAct as the main quality contact for customers, handling complaints and returns professionally\nSupport customer audits and quality reviews, ensuring evidence and actions are controlled\nWork with suppliers on incoming quality issues and corrective actions when required\nMaintain and improve quality documentation including FAIRs, PPAPs and control plans where applicable\nKeep ISO 9001 compliance on track, supporting internal and external audits and maintaining controlled procedures\nOversee calibration discipline and measurement system reliability.\nCoach inspectors and promote a right-first-time culture on the shop floor \n\n What they’re looking for - Quality Engineer\n\nBackground in quality within CNC machining / precision engineering\nConfident reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T in inspection and decision-making\nCMM inspection and reporting experience, plus strong understanding of manual measurement\nPractical problem-solving capability with root cause and corrective action experience\nWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 and audit readiness in a manufacturing setting\nComfortable communicating across shop floor teams and external customers\nHands-on approach, able to balance quality control with production pace \n\n Desirable - Quality Engineer\n\nExposure to FAIR and PPAP activity\nMSA and SPC understanding\nExperience in higher-spec environments (aerospace, automotive, similar)\nFamiliarity with quality systems software and ERP environments\nInternal or Lead Auditor training \n\n What’s on offer - Quality Engineer\n\n Quality Engineer salary: £38,500 – £46,000\n\n Progression available for a Quality Engineer who shows initiative and wants to develop longer term.\nA hands-on quality role with real influence on scrap, rework and right-first-time performance.\nSupportive environment where quality is expected to work alongside production, not fight it.\n\nHow to apply for the Quality Engineer position\n\n If you’re interested in this Quality Engineer role, get in touch to run through the role.\nCall or message Hayden at Holt Engineering on (phone number removed)
