Quality Engineer Responsibilities
- Review customer-imposed quality documentation to determine applicability to internal manufacturing operations and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Evaluate and maintain internal quality documentation to ensure alignment with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Review, assess, and validate corrective actions to ensure root causes are identified and resolutions are complete and effective.
- Maintain and support quality manuals, procedures, and documentation required to meet customer and regulatory expectations.
- Serve as a primary quality interface with customers, maintaining strong working relationships and supporting customer-related Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Participate in and develop training materials for inspection personnel and quality-related processes.
- Review manufacturing plans to ensure adequate inspection points and quality checkpoints are integrated into production workflows.
- Perform verification activities and inspection oversight to ensure products meet requirements outlined in purchase orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Monitor key quality metrics including scrap, rework, and cost-of-quality performance while identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality enhancement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Review and validate labor, equipment, and operational costs to identify inefficiencies and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company safety and quality standards.
Quality Engineer Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering or another technical discipline.
- Prior experience within the aerospace, space, or defense industry strongly .
- Working knowledge of AS9100 Rev D quality standards and aerospace manufacturing quality systems.
- Experience with quality system administration, audits, customer audits, and corrective action processes .
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and customer-facing documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex technical situations and develop practical solutions.
- Knowledge of quality data analysis, including trends related to scrap, rework, nonconformance costs, and supplier performance, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with metal manufacturing inspection and control methods .
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Must qualify as a U.S. Person in accordance with applicable government regulations.
- Ability to meet ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance requirements
