Quality Engineer – Automotive Metal Stamping

About the Role
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams while also serving as a primary contact for OEM customers. You will support new product launches, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on stamping processes.
What You’ll Do

Support and maintain the company’s quality systems to meet automotive standards.

Act as a technical liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality.

Lead quality activities including APQP, PPAP submissions, prototype builds, and pre-production launches.

Evaluate designs and processes to ensure manufacturability and superior part quality.

Conduct capability studies, process potential studies, and apply SPC to monitor stamping processes.

Review and maintain quality documents including control plans, FMEAs, and process flows.

Address customer concerns, lead problem-solving efforts, and follow up on corrective actions.

Provide training and guidance to manufacturing and quality personnel on equipment, processes, and quality tools.

Participate in customer and internal audits.
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

2–5 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing with a strong emphasis on metal stamping.

Experience working directly with General Motors and/or other OEM customers.

Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and customer portals.

Certified IATF Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor is a plus.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab is .
