Quality Engineer – Automotive Metal Stamping

About the Role
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams while also serving as a primary contact for OEM customers. You will support new product launches, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on stamping processes.

What You’ll Do

• Support and maintain the company’s quality systems to meet automotive standards.

• Act as a technical liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality.

• Lead quality activities including APQP, PPAP submissions, prototype builds, and pre-production launches.

• Evaluate designs and processes to ensure manufacturability and superior part quality.

• Conduct capability studies, process potential studies, and apply SPC to monitor stamping processes.

• Review and maintain quality documents including control plans, FMEAs, and process flows.

• Address customer concerns, lead problem-solving efforts, and follow up on corrective actions.

• Provide training and guidance to manufacturing and quality personnel on equipment, processes, and quality tools.

• Participate in customer and internal audits.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

• 2–5 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing with a strong emphasis on metal stamping.

• Experience working directly with General Motors and/or other OEM customers.

• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and customer portals.

• Certified IATF Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• Proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab is .
