Job Description

ROLE: Quality Engineer\nLOCATION: Derby\nSALARY: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum\n\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to join a leading advanced manufacturing business in Derby. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining product quality standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced production environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManage and maintain quality management systems in line with AS9100, ISO9001, and other relevant industry standards.\nConduct internal and supplier audits, driving compliance and best practice throughout the supply chain.\nSupport production teams with quality control activities, including in-process and final product inspections.\nLead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nDevelop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, FAI (First Article Inspection) reports, and inspection records.\nWork closely with engineering, production, and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure product conformity.\nAnalyse quality performance metrics and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and procedures.\nProvide training and guidance to employees on quality standards and requirements.Skills & Experience:\n\nHND/Degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).\nPrevious experience in a quality engineering role within aerospace, automotive, composites, or a similarly regulated sector.\nStrong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards and auditing techniques.\nHands-on experience with composite materials or advanced manufacturing processes (desirable).\nSkilled in root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Lean methodologies.\nExcellent attention to detail, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the business
