Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Lead and coach QA technicians, ensuring comprehensive coverage in enforcement of GMP,
HACCP, SQF, SSOP’s, and other food safety protocols.
▪ Conduct pre-operational inspections, line audits, and finished product checks, ensuring
deviations are corrected and documentation is maintained.
▪ Supervise batch record reviews, test tracking, hold/release decisions, and disposition of reject
products in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
▪ Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP and related standards; prepare for and participate in
regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
▪ Facilitate root-cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and
lead continuous improvement initiatives.
▪ Maintain robust documentation, traceability, lot control, non-conformance logs, and audit-ready
records using electronic quality systems where available.
▪ Foster an environment of open communication, encourage feedback, empower the QA team, and
apply creative problem-solving to uphold excellence.
▪ Oversee product testing, inspections, and sampling to ensure they meet specifications and regulatory requirements
▪ Ensure adherence to industry, regulatory, and company standards, and conduct audits to identify areas for improvement
▪ Train team members on quality assurance principles, practices, and relevant regulatory guidelines
▪ Work with cross-functional teams, including production and management, to achieve quality goals and
enhance customer satisfaction.
▪ Other duties and tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ Associate’s degree in quality management or a related field.
▪ Three years of experience in a similar role.
Experience in the bakery and/or food manufacturing industry is required.
▪ Experience with writing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
▪ Food Industry certifications.
▪ Basic knowledge of microbiology in the food industry.
▪ Strong analytical, mathematics skills and data-driven decision-making.
▪ Able to develop protocols in English and Spanish.
▪ Ability to work in a team environment, excellent communication skills.
▪ Keen attention to detail, organization and documentation.
▪ Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications) and computer-based applications)..
▪ Analyze quality data to identify trends, investigate non-conformances, and prepare detailed reports on quality activities.
▪ Strong understanding industry of raw materials and the manufacturing industry.
▪ Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
▪ Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
▪ Open to working night and weekend.
