Clayton Services is searching for a Quality Control Specialist to join a thriving manufacturing company in North Houston. The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring products and processes meet established quality standards, reviewing documentation, and supporting audits to maintain compliance and consistency across production.

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $23.00–$26.00/hour

Quality Control Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Review production documentation including drawings, specifications, work orders, and change documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify products and processes meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry guidelines
  • Perform routine quality inspections and audits on manufacturing processes and finished goods
  • Conduct floor checks and walkthroughs to monitor work in progress and identify quality or safety concerns
  • Document findings and maintain organized records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Identify non-conformances and partner with operations teams to implement corrective solutions
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends and recommending process enhancements
  • Participate in meetings with internal teams to address quality issues and drive resolution
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Quality Control Specialist Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and defects
  • Solid organizational skills, especially with documentation and recordkeeping
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and working within quality or production systems
  • Strong written communication skills; technical writing experience is a plus
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production and leadership teams

Quality Control Specialist Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within manufacturing is strongly
  • Experience working with production documentation, inspections, or audits required
  • Technical training or certifications are a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
