Context
The Project team is responsible for the good execution of Projects with maximum customer satisfaction. It is spread between several locations
Based on the project scope of work, contract requirements, project complexity or individual competence the Quality Engineer can also be assigned on temporary basis as Project Health & Safety Manager or Project Environmental Manager, see separate Job Descriptions for areas of responsibility
Purpose
▪ Manage all aspects of Quality in project execution and during Tender phase when required.
▪ Manage and assure that Nexans’ Management system and procedures and Client’s requirements and expectations are met
▪ Ensure that the project team is knowledgeable about and compliant to G&T Management systems and tools
▪ Assist in Continuous Improvement development of the organization with regards to Quality activitie
Areas of responsibility
▪ General Description
o As the role as Project Quality Manager manage the required Quality activities for project by preparing and communicating the relevant Project Plans and Procedures from project Start-up to Close Out as required by the project and in compliance with the requirements of the project model.
▪ Specific Descriptions
o Assist the Project Team in meeting their day to day responsibility for Quality performance.
o Ensure effective coordination and communication with Plant Quality o Ensure effective coordination and communication with Land and Marine Installation project teams related to Quality assurance activities.
o Ensuring effective coordination and communication with Client around Quality topics.
o Establish the Project Quality Plan as per template and monitor compliance to the plan
o Manage & distribute specific project KPI’s related to Quality
o Inspection & Test Plans

Establish the Project Inspection and Test Plan as per process and template o Establish Quality Surveillance (QS) Plan and ensure the activities are performed according to the QS Plan.

Plan, notify and coordinate with Clients on applicable R, W and H points from the project ITP (not applicable for Nx own Manufacturing)

Manage customer comments and document revision until full approval

Establish Final Documentation Index file and follow-up completeness and status

Coordinate the collection of Quality documents between the various teams.

Establish Project Compliance report and organize review meetings

Monitor and support compliance with the Project Model Stage Gates
o Change Management

Ensure that changes impacting the execution of the project are thoroughly reviewed and approved by the relevant internal stakeholders
o Non-conformance handling and reporting

Manage Non Conformance Reporting to customer as required

Manage concessions and deviations.

Support the FMEA process when required

Auditing o Assist and co-ordinate Client Audits

Support on Supplier and Subcontractor Audits when required

Facilitate and encourage the process for Lessons Learned
o In tender, analyze the Quality demands and give input to the Tender Manager
Expected results
▪ Ensure that the execution of the project complies with the quality requirements of the contract, Nexans G&T standards and regulatory environment.
▪ Develop preventive actions to reduce non-quality cost and non-conformances through improved Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
▪ Reduce the severity and/or probability of risks by the introduction of mitigation and control measures
▪ Use efficiently quality assurance planning tools and procedures safeguarding Quality targets
Requested Competencies and Qualification
Quality Engineer
▪ Typically supporting Senior or Specialist Project Quality Manager in projects
▪ Has some understanding of the Quality discipline within Nexans projects
▪ Typically 0-4 years of experience as Quality Manager from manufacturing, installation or offshore
▪ Skilled in Project Management and methods
▪ Understanding project-driven organizations and requirements
▪ Trained and certified in Quality and Risk Management
▪ Hold a University degree MSc, MBA, BSc or similar, preferably in engineering- or QHSER discipline
▪ Possess some knowledge of industrial processes – as cable manufacturing, relevant industry and/or marine and land installation works
▪ Fluent in English, verbal and written Perform tasks of the role with some assistance and follow-up
