Job Summary
As a Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machined components meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving our quality control processes, working closely with production, design, and management teams to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspection of machined components using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure products meet design intent and tolerances.
Develop and maintain inspection procedures, control plans, and quality documentation.
Investigate non-conformities and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.
Assist with internal audits and prepare for external audits from customers and certification bodies (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports for traceability and compliance.
Provide training and support to shop floor personnel on quality standards and best practices.
Requirements
Essential:
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Experience in a precision machining environment (CNC milling, turning, etc.).
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Proficiency in using manual and automated inspection equipment (e.g., CMM, height gauges, surface testers).
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documents.
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Desirable:
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949.
Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D).
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and quality management software.
Prior experience in a customer-facing quality assurance role.
