Quality Control Analyst in Cambridge

Summary

This is a full-time, onsite role (5 days per week) in a dynamic laboratory environment. Previous hands-on experience in molecular biology and related laboratory work is absolutely essential. Please note: VISA sponsorship is not available for this position. The role blends practical laboratory responsibilities with quality-focused administrative duties, supporting advanced FISH and NGS testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assigned portions of FISH and NGS product testing with precision and consistency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in microscopy and NGS workflows for product testing purposes.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures meticulously, ensuring proper handling of samples, thorough documentation, and accurate recording of quality data.
  • Participate in the quality management system, including supporting audits, SOPs, and related procedures.
  • Help maintain smooth laboratory operations alongside team members, overseeing equipment, reagents, software, and consumables.
  • Contribute to departmental documentation and process improvements, including implementing corrective actions and preventive measures (CAPAs).
  • Assist in investigations of product, process, or equipment nonconformities and support efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, regulatory, and health and safety standards (including ISO, GCLP, and Human Tissue Act requirements).
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the line manager, consistent with the role.

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in a GLP/GMP environment.
  • Practical understanding of FISH and NGS workflows.
  • Strong familiarity with documentation standards and SOP adherence.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a process-driven, high-volume environment.
  • Proven teamwork skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Prior hands-on experience with FISH analysis.
  • Proficiency with microscopy techniques.
  • Advanced molecular biology or NGS experience.
