Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager with expertise in precision sheet manufacturing and a strong background in AS9100 quality management systems. This role will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance activities in the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and serving as the AS9100 Organization Representative. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quality control methodologies, continuous improvement, and aerospace certifications.
Essential Functions

Quality Assurance Management:- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant standards.
- Oversee the quality assurance processes in precision sheet metal manufacturing, including inspection, testing, documentation, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Ensure all incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products meet or exceed aerospace quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and process reviews to ensure adherence to established procedures and certifications.
- Lead the quality control team, ensuring appropriate training and resources are provided to meet production and quality requirements.
- Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of quality-related issues.
- Lead quality audits for suppliers and customers as required, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and aerospace specifications.

Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:- Implement continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis to address quality concerns and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Work with production and engineering teams to develop and optimize process control plans, inspection standards, and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with the production team to resolve quality issues, improve product quality, and ensure manufacturing processes meet the required specifications.
- Promote a culture of quality and ensure best practices are adopted across all departments.

Documentation and Reporting- Ensure that all quality documentation, including inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action reports (CARs), is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with quality standards.
- Maintain traceability of products and materials throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that all products are compliant with quality requirements.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, providing insights into quality metrics, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance within precision sheet metal manufacturing or related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree (ASQ certifications, such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certifications are a plus).
- Strong understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace industry regulations (ITAR, NADCAP, FAA).
- Proven experience as an AS9100 Organization Representative, including internal audits, corrective action management, and certification processes.
- Experience with quality control methods (statistical process control, material testing, visual inspection, etc.).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

- Ability to work in an office environment with occasional visits to production areas.
- Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- The work environment may involve exposure to noise from production equipment such as punching and machining tools.
- Regular interaction with engineering, production, and other office staff is necessary.
