SUMMARY Performs quality inspections to assure compliance with Custom Power specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Inspects incoming materials per applicable drawings, specifications, and PO Notes.
  • Takes measurements using calipers, micrometers, rulers, multimeters, etc. to determine product conformity.
  • Performs in-process and final inspections, as needed.
  • Enters and maintains records of inspection
  • Identifies and segregates nonconforming material. Writes red-tags and initiates nonconforming reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Ability to effectively operate visual magnification devices (microscopes, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively operate and interpret basic mechanical measuring devices
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Candidate must have good attention to detail with vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Windows, MS Office Suite
  • Understanding of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or technical school ; and two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, certificate, and experience.

Recent experience to include inspection of: Electrical Assemblies, PCBAs, Cables and Wire Harnesses, Mechanical Assemblies, Machined and Injection Molded Components.

Candidate should be computer savvy and experienced with Microsoft Office programs, and Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) for entering product acceptance details. An understanding of International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection

SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations. Must read, write, and speak fluent English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
