Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with experience.

in aerospace and military machining to join our precision manufacturing team. The

ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet stringent quality standards and

regulatory requirements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and customer

satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance & Control:

• Work with Sales and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure everyone understands and

agrees that Customer Requirements / Specifications are achievable when bidding new

contracts.

• Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering Teams to develop and perform

appropriate Receiving, First Piece, In Process, Control Plans, and Final Inspection Plans,

along with identifying and controlling all of the Gages, Measuring Devices, and

Equipment to support all of these steps/areas of inspection.  All of this in accordance

with ISO9001 / AS9100D quality requirements.

• Confer with Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Personnel to resolve

problems with Product Design, Manufacturing Processes, Specifications, Materials,

Tooling, Fixturing, Part Programming, etc. affecting quality.

• Use MRB process to document and control Scrap, Rework, and use as is.

• Capture and Record Internal and External Part Defects, Scrap, and escapes. Organize this

data into categories, i.e., Defect Type, Department, Who, Root Cause, Corrective Actions,

to help prioritize the higher-driving issues the Team should be focusing on.

• Develop process flow diagrams, PFEMA’S, Process control plans, and Perform Process

Capability Studies, as well as Gage R&R studies all in the effort of performing PPAPS

when required.

• Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non.

conformances.

• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and complete PPAPs in accordance with AS9145.

• Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and MIL-SPEC standards.

• Maintain and audit quality documentation, including control plans, inspection reports,

and calibration records.

• Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory body audits.

• Participate in Annual Management Review Meetings and Audits.

• Train New Employees and shop floor personnel on all associated Procedures and

Documents.

• Process Improvement:

• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing

processes.

• Utilize statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing tools to drive

quality improvements.

• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).

• Customer & Supplier Interaction:

• Interface with customers regarding quality issues, returns, and corrective actions.

• Evaluate and qualify suppliers; perform supplier audits and manage supplier quality.

• Respond to Customer Complaints; use the 8D Approach – Plan, Create Team, Define

Problem, Contain Problem, Identify Root Cause, Formulate Corrective Actions, create

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or

related field.

• Experience: 3–5+ years in a quality engineering role within aerospace or defense

machining/manufacturing.

• Certifications (a Plus): ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, a

Plus

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient in GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology.

• Experience with CMM programming and operation (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo), a Plus.

• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality management software (e.g., Net-Inspect,

• Strong knowledge of machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding, etc.).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to precision and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing floor and office environment.

• May require occasional travel to suppliers or customer sites.
