QC Engineering Technician

The QC Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality department's tasks. The QC Engineering Technician primarily focuses on getting products through the department in a timely manner by maintaining the database and providing support to Production and Purchasing. Duties for this position include:
Maintaining QC Database
- Entering New QC items
- Determining and maintaining QC items tests for incoming inspections
- Performing first article inspections
- Creating and maintaining QC report
Internal Non-Conformances
- Providing production support for all quality issues
- Performing internal investigations
- Creating MRRs and initiating CARs when applicable
Vendor Returns (VRMAs)
- Performing initial investigations
- Creating MRRs and VRMAs when needed
- Preparing and communicating information internally
In Process Repair
- Test offline units
- Troubleshoot offline units
- Read schematic/PCB layout
- Determine the cause of failure
- Disposition of offline units
- Soldering/desoldering electronic components
Incoming Inspection
- Visually inspecting incoming components
- Perform measurements using calibrated equipment
- Perform inspection tests
- Dispositioning QC receiver
- Log data from tests
Customer Returns (RMAs)
- Inspect product
- Communicate status interdepartmentally
- Repair/refurbish units for stock
- Test returned product
- Disposition of returned product
Quality Control Team Member
- Maintain the flow of quality materials
- Component training
- Solder training
- Investigate quality anomalies
- Maintain a clean and organized lab area
Engineering Team Member
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Provide information and support to FDI team members
- Communicates and represents the organization to customers and other external sources
- Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships
Other duties as assigned
Compensation (USD):
$50,000 - $70,000/year depending on experienceQuarterly Bonus Program
Schedule:
Monday - Friday7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
All candidates must have an expert level of the following skillset:
- Advanced knowledge of product installation environment
- Advanced knowledge of production analysis techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to distinguish between colors
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills
- Must work with safety in mind, follow safety procedures and policies
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of Excel with the ability to analyze data, and use pivot tables, graphs, and charts is REQUIRED
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an FDI tester or inspector or related outside experience
- Prior experience with SyteLine is a plus but not required
- 3 years of experience in a quality-related position
- Prior knowledge of electrical components or 3 years of work experience
