Buyer Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Agent. In this role, you will be responsible for meeting company goals and expectations in purchasing. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of procurement experience.

Buyer Duties and Responsibilities

You will be purchasing items requested from our various departments (such as cutting tools, shop supplies, etc.), issuing PO’s for subcontract operations, following up with our subcontractors, and coordinating with our driver for local pickups and deliveries.

• Develop purchasing strategies to ensure consistent inventory
• Research a variety of vendors to find the products we need for the best prices
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
• Coordinate with subcontractors to meet production schedules
• Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing and monitor the effectiveness of procedures

Buyer Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in the procurement of materials and supplies
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience in an aerospace precision machining or metalworking environment preferred

We have 23 CNC machines, including 6 horizontal mills (3 of which are on a 23 pallet FMS and 1 has its own 6 pallet system), 1 high speed, 4-axis, vertical mill, 4 vertical mills with capability up to fifth axis positioning, and 13 lathes (some with live tooling). Our 2 most advanced CNC lathes are twin spindle, have twin Y axis turrets with live tooling, and are in a cell with a Fanuc robot.

-Complex internal and external deburring and finishing under 10-40x magnification
-Process to create precision .0005" tolerance bores with less than 16 microfinish, and 11 sigma capability
