A leader in high-quality architectural millwork for 50 years is seeking a passionate and results-driven Purchasing & Sourcing Specialist to join our team. Based in the mid-Atlantic area, we specialize in creating unique spaces in commercial buildings and are proud to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
What You’ll Do
As a Purchasing & Sourcing Specialist, you’ll support the procurement process by sourcing, purchasing, and managing the acquisition of goods and services ensuring the best possible value, balancing cost, quality, and delivery timelines. Your key responsibilities will include:
· Order processing: Working from purchase requisitions, generate purchase orders and submit them to vendors, or place online orders with vendors.
· Vendor management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, helping to maintain vendor contact records.
· Market research: In conjunction with the Sourcing & Purchasing Manager, conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, compare prices, and ensure competitive pricing.
· Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels and identify reorder points to maintain optimal stock levels. Must do manual data entry of inventory shipments or receipts.
· Order tracking: Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
· Purchase record keeping: In conjunction with the purchasing agent, maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and delivery dates.
· Sample Submittal Process: Procure product samples as requested and label them per client designations. Box for shipment and prepare UPS shipping labels for these. Keep detailed records of samples requested & submitted.
· Communication: Communicate with internal project managers and foremen regarding purchase requirements and delivery updates.
· Document Submittals: LEED, DC Green, FSC documentation and submittals a plus.
· Machine and Building Maintenance: Will need to source and purchase parts for both portable and stationary machinery at the request of our building engineer, as well as materials needed for building maintenance and operation.
