(Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager - Engineering & Manufacturing)

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to take ownership of procurement across two engineering and manufacturing sites. This is a high-impact role responsible for moving the business from site-led buying to a centralised, strategic procurement function, driving cost savings, consistency, and commercial improvement across the group.

You will manage both:

    \n

    High-volume, stock-driven procurement (processing/manufacturing environment)

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Low-volume, high-spec, project-based purchasing (precision engineering/machining)

    \n

  • \n

\nKey Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • \n

    Develop and lead the group procurement strategy across 2 sites

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Consolidate spend and implement group-wide sourcing strategies

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements to drive cost savings

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Manage supplier performance, relationships, and commercial terms

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Improve stock control, usage forecasting, and inventory optimisation

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Support project/engineering teams with reactive and technical purchasing

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Introduce rebate structures and long-term supply agreements

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Support commercial teams with cost data and bid input

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Improve procurement processes, systems, and reporting across the group

    \n

  • \n

\nWhat We're Looking For\n

    \n
  • \n

    Proven procurement experience within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Strong background in multi-site purchasing or group-level procurement

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Experience with raw materials, metals, or engineered components

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Track record of delivering measurable cost savings and margin improvement

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Strong commercial awareness and data-driven decision making

    \n

  • \n

\nDesirable\n

    \n
  • \n

    CIPS qualification (or working towards MCIPS)

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement analytics

    \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Exposure to both high-volume and project-based manufacturing environments

    \n

  • \n

  • Lean / Continuous Improvement / Six Sigma exposure (Bonus but not essential)
  • \n
