Job Description
Hybrid 3 days in the office.
A leading wholesale FMCG business in the East Midlands is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager who will play a lead role in the delivery of the Supplier and Sourcing Strategy within their categories. The role will involve managing a global supply base to optimise cost savings initiatives as well working closely with the New Product Development team to help deliver leading edge and innovative products.
About the role
Reporting to the Purchasing Director, you will be responsible for driving cost improvements and defining the supplier strategy via the management of domestic and international suppliers. You will also play a crucial role in the NPD process by supporting the introduction of new products and innovations as well as working collaboratively with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing. You will evolve in to an industry expert in your category by using market insight and analysis to identify best value sources and minimise supplier risk.
About the Person
This would suit someone with a experience in Buying / Purchasing in a commodity driven Food or FMCG based environment. From retail, wholesale or FMCG supplier-side, you will excel at sourcing, supply base management and negotiation. Ideally, you will have a proven track record of success in driving cost efficiencies and adding value through the identification of commercial opportunities. Preferably you will have experience in sourcing from both domestic and international suppliers. You will also have a collaborative working style, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
