Finished Goods - Electrical Wholesale \n To £60,000pa + bonus and benefits \n Leeds\n\nThe Role\n\nReporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for developing and implementing the purchasing strategy, supplier relationships, and inventory optimisation.\n \n Leading a small but capable team you will work closely with sales, finance, and warehouse operations to ensure a streamlined and commercially driven supply chain.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProcurement & Supplier Management\n\nOversee sourcing, negotiation, and supplier selection across a wide range of electrical components.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with UK, European, and global suppliers-including Far East sourcing where relevant.\nNegotiate pricing, terms, rebates, and service agreements to maximise margin and secure competitive advantage.\nConduct regular supplier reviews and ensure consistent performance against KPIs.Inventory Optimisation & Forecasting\n\nMaintain optimal stock levels across a high‑SKU product portfolio.\nAnalyse sales forecasts, historical data, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.\nMinimise stockouts, obsolescence, and slow‑moving items through proactive planning.\nSupport the development of improved stock management processes and system efficiencies.Commercial & Operational Leadership\n\nLead and mentor the small purchasing team, ensuring clarity, accountability, and continuous development.\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing strategies with sales opportunities and operational needs.\nProvide regular reports and insights to senior management on market conditions, supplier performance, costs, and risks.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and overall business performance.The Company\n\nOne of the UK's leading independent electrical component stockholders and distributors as they continue to invest heavily in their operations, supply chain, and product range. \n\nThis is a long‑established, highly respected organisation supplying OEMs, panel builders, industrial automation businesses, MRO operations, and specialist engineering clients across the UK and internationally.\n\nDue to their continued expansion and increased demand, they are keen to appoint a high calibre Purchasing Manager to join their senior management team and ensure the business maintains its reputation for exceptional availability and service.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a procurement professional with strong technical purchasing experience looking for a fresh opportunity within a growing and forward‑thinking business.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\n We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:\n\nExperience & Technical Skills\n\nProven experience as a Finished Goods Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, or Procurement Lead ideally with some electrical distribution, electronics, engineering supply, or similar technical experience.\nSkilled in negotiation, supplier management, and contract discussions.\nConfident with ERP/MRP systems and comfortable working with complex data sets.Personal Attributes\n\nCommercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nA proactive, hands‑on leader who can balance strategic thinking with day‑to‑day operational responsibilities.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAble to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business with high customer expectations.How to Apply\n\nSo, if you are looking for a fresh and exciting opportunity, within an ambitious fast growing business, that will make the most of your skills, knowledge and experience, then look no further.
