Purchasing Manager | DeWitt, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in DeWitt that are seeking skilled Purchasing Managers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans and policies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Source, evaluate, and manage a diverse portfolio of suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability and quality standards are met.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and supply chain risks to inform purchasing decisions.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and supplier relationships.
• Manage inventory levels in conjunction with production planning to ensure optimal stock and minimize waste.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production planning.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
• Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools for spend analysis (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
