 Purchasing Manager

Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council is looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our support staff for the State of Texas Dairy Queen operators. This role is responsible for working closely with the Director of Purchasing and Distribution in managing vendor relationships, sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies that support business operations.

Location: Full-time Onsite | Bedford, TX | $100K - $120K/yr

 

Minimal travel to vendor plant inspections, annual Restaurant Association show, and annual Corporate and State Conventions.

Responsibilities:

·         Assist to source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability

·         Assist to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings

·         Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to forecast needs

·         Maintain vendor relationships and resolve any supply or performance issues

·         Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory requirements

·         Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities

·         Track and report on procurement metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance

·         Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other stakeholders

·         Communicate with Franchisees and managers regarding needs or issues that should be addressed.

·         Track key items and promotional items monthly movement for marketing analysis and planning.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

·         Education

·         Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

·         Work experience

·         5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles

·         Experience with vendor negotiations and contract management

·         Skills

·         Strong negotiation and analytical skills

·         Excellent communication and relationship management abilities

·         High attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong Candidates will:

·         Act with urgency and ownership in managing procurement processes

·         Food commodities Supply Chain experience

·         Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills for restaurant/Franchisee Supply Chain issues and adaptability

·         Build and maintain strong vendor, Franchisee and internal relationships

·         Be highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

·         Continuously seeking process improvements and cost efficiencies
