Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement, rentals, inventory, vendor relationships, and a broad range of services that keep our operations running efficiently and safely. This is a critical role that impacts the bottom line by ensuring our teams have the tools, materials, equipment, and support services needed to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Inventory

● Purchase all tools, consumables, safety supplies, and construction materials.

● Manage inventory levels.

● Purchase all pipe, valves, and fittings.

Rentals & Equipment

● Oversee rentals and service calls for man lifts, scissor lifts, material lifts, compressors, welders, construction & rigging equipment, tuggers, hoists, dumpsters, trailers, cameras, and more.

● Handle equipment rentals and call-offs,

● Coordinate inspections (fire extinguishers, DOT inspections, crane, etc.).

● Oversee rentals and reconcile gas bottles, welding supplies, and other critical consumables.

Fleet & Maintenance

● Maintain truck fleet repairs and services.

● Manage crane repairs & inspections.

● Coordinate building maintenance (roof, lighting, doors, leaks) and parking lot maintenance.

Contracts & Services

● Administer service contracts including snow removal, landscaping, lawn service, waste hauling, cleaning, Cintas, copier services, and others.

Supplier & Vendor Management

● Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.

● Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements.

● Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality, safety, and delivery standards are met.

Skills & Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field .

● 5+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in construction, industrial services, or heavy equipment.

● Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

● Excellent communication to coordinate with office staff, field operations, suppliers, and customers.

● Ability to manage vendors effectively, build relationships, and drive down costs while reducing risk.

● Proven inventory management expertise.

● Solid problem-solving abilities with adaptability to shifting priorities.

● Industry knowledge of construction & piping equipment, rental management, and safety compliance.
