We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our growing team and lead our procurement efforts across all locations.
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Manager will oversee and manage the procurement of raw materials (primarily lumber), supplies, and services to support manufacturing operations across all Tree Brand Packaging locations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute purchasing strategies to support production needs across all seven locations.

Source and negotiate with vendors for lumber, hardware, fasteners, and other manufacturing inputs.

Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships; evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality, service, and cost competitiveness.

Collaborate with plant managers, operations, and finance teams to forecast material needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels.

Monitor market trends and commodity pricing (especially lumber) to mitigate cost risks and ensure best-value sourcing.

Drive standardization of procurement practices and policies across all locations.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, quality standards, and sustainability initiatives.

Use ERP systems and purchasing tools to track orders, manage vendor data, and generate reports.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the supply chain.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

5+ years of purchasing or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in the wood or pallet industry.

Proven negotiation skills with a strong understanding of vendor management and contract terms.

Knowledge of lumber markets and commodity pricing a strong plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership abilities.

Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Qualifications:

Experience managing multi-location purchasing or centralized procurement.

Familiarity with LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

APICS or other supply chain certification a plus.
