Position Overview:
The Purchasing & Inventory Specialist will play a key role in managing our purchasing operations and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This individual will be responsible for negotiating pricing and terms with vendors and manufacturer reps, monitoring inventory flow, and ensuring both new and used equipment are accurately tracked, costed, and priced for sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities, including sourcing, ordering, and tracking materials and equipment.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors and manufacturer representatives.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure efficient stock management and prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize purchasing and inventory processes.
- Oversee the intake and inventory of used equipment, ensuring accurate entry of costs and establishing appropriate resale pricing.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and warehouse teams to align inventory with business needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, inventory adjustments, and vendor communications.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supplier performance.
- Support forecasting and budgeting efforts related to inventory and purchasing.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain (preferably in equipment, distribution, or related industries).
- Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions on purchasing and inventory flow.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience in equipment or foodservice supply industry is but not required
