Purchasing Agent

About the Position
Our client is seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines. This role will play a critical part in cost control and efficiency on-site.
Responsibilities
Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and services according to project requirements and company standards.
Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes, bids, and proposals.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
Track and report on procurement status to project teams and management.
Coordinate with site supervisors, estimators, and project managers to forecast procurement needs.
Ensure all purchases comply with budget constraints and project specifications.
Stay up to date with market trends, material costs, and supply chain issues.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Construction Management .
3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in the construction industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
