Job DescriptionJob Description
The Pump Repair Technician performs maintenance and repair functions, which include
the repair of all types of pumps, rotating equipment, and other process equipment, mechanical
troubleshooting, some electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and field installation
of equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Equipment Repair
• Tear down, utilizing manufacturer's recommendations and industry best practices
• Inspection of equipment and parts for wear and damage
• Diagnose for possible reason(s) for failure
• Provide information on parts and additional work required
• Provide recommendations to improve the reliability of the equipment
• Complete information in reports as required
• Paint and prepare for shipment
• Load, secure to truck, and deliver, as necessary
• Clean and organize shop, as required
Requirements
• Comply with all Local, State, and OSHA Safety Regulations
• Mechanical aptitude and skills.
• Experience in maintenance and mechanical equipment repair
• Capable of using and reading precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and
calipers
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently
• Capable of wearing personal protection equipment.
• Capable of working outdoors, and possibly in inclement weather
• Available to work overtime hours - after 5:00 p.m., weekends, holidays
• Valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to obtain DOT certification
• Competency at filling in paperwork and communicating effectively
• Understanding of exploded diagrams or cross-sectional drawings
• Good communication skills with others by telephone, written documents or in person
