To excel as a Public Infrastructure Manager at American Fork City, candidates must bring a robust blend of education and experience. A high school graduation, supplemented by two years of specialized training in infrastructure management or a related field, is essential. Additionally, candidates must have five years of progressively responsible experience in similar roles or an equivalent combination of education.
Successful applicants will possess considerable knowledge of AWWA and APWA standards, municipal construction specifications, and civil engineering testing methods. Proficiency in using compaction testing equipment, electronic locators, and concrete testers is critical. Interpersonal communication abilities are vital for effective collaboration with internal and external agencies, while skills in project tracking systems and infrastructure management software are required for managing complex projects.
Candidates should also be adept in visualizing project outcomes, estimating material quantities, and maintaining cooperative relationships with various stakeholders, including elected officials and the public. Special qualifications include a valid Utah Driver's license and certification as a Public Infrastructure Inspector or the ability to acquire it within one year, along with the completion of OSHA 5610 and E100 courses within the same timeframe.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Graduation from high school plus Two (2) years of specialized training in infrastructure management or related field; provided through technical college, professional workshops or university studies; And Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of AWWA and APWA standards; public works standards, construction methods, engineering testing, project tracking software, and skilled in technical evaluation, documentation, and communication.
- Skilled in verbal and written communication, project planning and estimation, interpreting plans and specifications, applying advanced math, and building effective relationships with officials, agencies, and the public.
- Must possess a valid Utah Driver's license.
- Must be a Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector or equivalent, or abilitiy to aquire certification within 1 (one) year.
- Must complete OSHA 5610 and E100 courses within 1 (one) year and/or other applicable certifications.
