Protection & Controls Engineer (Design) \n \nLocation: Stafford \n \nWe're looking for a Protection & Controls Engineer (Design) to deliver high-quality HV & EHV protection design across UK electricity networks. This is a pure design role, focused on protection studies, relay application, and technical documentation (no operational or SCADA responsibilities). \n \nGreat salary (competitive and experience-dependent) \n \nExcellent benefits package \n \nStrong technical environment with clear progression opportunities \n \nThe Role \n \nDevelop protection philosophies in line with DNO / Grid standards \n \nCarry out fault level calculations, grading & coordination studies \n \nDesign schemes for transformers, feeders, busbars & cables \n \nProduce protection single lines, schematics & calculation reports \n \nSupport technical assurance and design reviews \n \nAbout You \n \nDegree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) \n \n3-7 years' experience in Protection & Controls design \n \nExperience on UK DNO or Grid projects \n \nStrong knowledge of HV/EHV protection systems and relays (ABB, Siemens, SEL, GE, Schneider) \n \nWorking towards or holding CEng desirable \n \nIf you enjoy detailed engineering design and working within UK network standards, this is a great opportunity to progress your career in a technically focused environment.
