Propulsion Systems Engineer – Aerospace Technology
Location: Albuquerque Area
Direct Hire | Full-Time | On-Site
LHH is partnering with a pioneering aerospace technology company to identify a Propulsion Systems Engineer for their growing engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on mechanical engineer to contribute to cutting-edge stratospheric platform systems that are redefining global connectivity and observation.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineer and refine components for electric propulsion systems—spanning motors, gear assemblies, propellers, and actuators

Apply advanced simulation techniques and embed DFMA strategies into design workflows

Conduct detailed analyses including tolerance stacks, fatigue performance, and risk evaluations using FMEA
-
Produce precise technical drawings and documentation to support manufacturing and compliance
-
Lead and interpret results from bench, dynamometer, environmental, and flight testing to optimize system performance

Partner with cross-functional teams in Vehicle Architecture, Power Systems, and Manufacturing to align on design goals

Ensure robust documentation and version control through PDM platforms

Champion continuous improvement by integrating insights and feedback into future iterations
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

5+ years of experience in mechanical design of electromechanical systems

Proficiency in 3D CAD and simulation tools

Strong foundation in kinematics, dynamics, thermal analysis, and structural mechanics

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience:
-
Advanced degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

Experience with composite materials and propulsion systems from concept to production

Background in systems engineering and extreme environment design
