Job DescriptionJob Description

We're looking for a motivated and reliable Propane Service Technician to join our team in Texas. This position involves both the delivery of propane and the installation and maintenance of propane systems for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, customer satisfaction, and working in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propane Delivery: Safely load, transport, and deliver propane to customer locations using a bobtail truck. This includes operating specialized pumping equipment to fill tanks and documenting deliveries accurately.
  • System Installation & Maintenance: Install propane tanks, regulators, and gas lines in compliance with all relevant safety standards (e.g., NFPA 54 & 58) and company policies.
  • Service & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair issues with propane systems, including leaks, tank problems, and appliance malfunctions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct safety inspections and perform leak tests on propane systems. Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety protocols, including regulations set by the Railroad Commission of Texas.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and offering safety information to clients.
  • On-Call Rotation: Be available for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or service calls as required.

Qualifications

  • Texas Railroad Commission Certification: Must have a valid Propane Service Driver certification from the Railroad Commission of Texas. This is a mandatory requirement to legally handle LP-gas in the state.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL): A Class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements is , but not required for this role.
  • Physical Ability: The job requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret safety manuals and work orders.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
