Project Manager - IoT & Smart Metering

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager (IoT & Smart Metering) to drive forward innovative energy solutions across electricity, gas, and heating. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strategic project leadership to deliver next- IoT-enabled metering and energy management systems. If you are passionate about digitalisation, smart infrastructure, and sustainable energy, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead IoT Smart Metering Projects end-to-end, from planning and coordination to execution and successful delivery.
• Develop IoT Architectures: Design secure and scalable solutions using MQTT, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and other connectivity protocols to enable real-time metering, monitoring, and remote diagnostics.
• Drive Energy Innovation: Contribute to advanced metering concepts such as PPAs, Mieterstrom, EMS platforms, and integrated PV + battery systems.
• Data & Analytics: Leverage IoT data for forecasting, optimisation, and predictive maintenance while ensuring full GDPR compliance.
• Manage Stakeholders: Work closely with grid operators, technology vendors, subcontractors, and cross-functional internal teams to align technical and business objectives.
• Oversee System Implementation: Coordinate installation, commissioning, and integration of smart meters, sensors, and IoT platforms.
• Support Strategic Growth: Identify new market opportunities and foster partnerships to expand the company’s IoT-driven energy solutions portfolio.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience within IoT ecosystems, device integration, and communication protocols.
• Strong background in smart metering systems and energy management solutions.
• Bonus: Familiarity with cybersecurity standards, cloud architectures, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent project management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
