Overview
The Project Safety Lead plays a key role in developing and maintaining safe work environments across company projects. This individual is responsible for creating and implementing safety programs, training personnel, and monitoring compliance to reduce workplace hazards and prevent accidents. The position also leads and supports site safety staff while ensuring all efforts align with corporate and project-specific safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to design, update, and execute safety and health initiatives for assigned projects.
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide safety training and daily oversight for employees and subcontractors to maintain safe work practices.
- Facilitate incident investigations and collaborate on corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by communicating expectations and reinforcing accountability across all project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field; or CHST certification.
- At least five years of relevant construction safety experience.
- Must meet background requirements established by project clients or general contractors.
