Project Safety Coordinator

Allied Concrete is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator to lead, implement, and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at an assigned construction project in Billings, Montana. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as company safety policies and client-specific EHS programs. The Project Safety Coordinator partners with project management, subcontractors, and field personnel to build a strong safety culture and achieve an injury-free workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote and model an injury-free culture by engaging with management, supervisors, and craft employees.
- Provide safety coaching and mentoring to project teams and clients.
- Support the development of project-specific safety goals and strategies.
- Implement and enforce corporate, project-specific, and general contractor safety plans.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans, and hazard recognition/mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and industrial hygiene monitoring; recommend corrective actions.
- Manage project EHS audit programs, ensuring findings are documented, tracked, and resolved.
- Lead investigations of incidents, injuries, property damage, and near misses.
- Perform root cause analysis and track corrective actions to completion.
- Maintain required OSHA and regulatory recordkeeping and reporting.
- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and regulatory-required training for employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure training programs are effective, timely, and well-documented.
- Prepare and present project safety performance indicators and trend reports.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with safety requirements.
- Partner with Regional Safety staff to drive consistency in safety processes and share best practices.
- Prepare EHS documentation and reports for internal leadership, clients, and regulatory agencies as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 35+ years of construction safety experience required (concrete work ).
- Knowledge of OSHA construction standards, EPA/DOT regulations, and industry best practices.
- Professional safety certification (CHST or equivalent) or ability to obtain.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate across varied groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to prepare reports and presentations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments in fast-paced environments.
- Valid drivers license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Certification
