Position 1 Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading specialist in water treatment equipment solutions, who is currently seeking a Project/Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team based in King’s Lynn.

As a Project/Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in managing technical projects from concept through to completion. You will collaborate across teams including production, marketing, and senior management, contributing to both design and research & development activities.



Key Responsibilities:



* Collaborate with internal teams to define project specifications and procedures



* Lead project planning and coordinate technical activities



* Contribute to R&D efforts for new and existing products



* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures



* Monitor and report on project progress



* Maintain strong communication with customers, suppliers, and sales teams



* Analyse technical and resource needs to assess project feasibility



* Support installation, maintenance, and testing of equipment



* Design of mechanical components and assessment of design suitability,



* Development of equipment specifications and performance requirements



* Create and maintain assembly drawings, manuals, and supporting documentation



* Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and cost calculations



* Liaise with clients, colleagues, and suppliers on technical matters



* Promote a safe working environment in line with company QHSE standards



Key Requirements:



* Proficient in CAD and 3D CAD software (Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or Alibre )



* Background in metal fabrication desirable



* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)



* Excellent attention to detail and computer literacy



* Familiarity with water industry standards a plus



* Confident in report writing and project documentation



* Ability to manage workload under pressure with strong problem-solving skills



* Self-motivated, flexible, and reliable team player



Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
